Designing for meaningful connection in virtual collaboration
Challenge
Google (Design & User Experience teams) approached us with a two part request: to support their internal design teams to collaborate better across workstreams and to develop their skills in designing services for higher levels of meaningful human connection.
Approach
We designed a support package that enabled participants to map a recent collaboration and identify human connection gaps and opportunities. As a whole team, these were shared and voted on, and solution ideas were created.
Outputs
The final outputs were new human connection methods in the form of method cards, so these could be shared with the wider team, alongside out existing design framework for human connection. The team developed skills were gained which resulted in more effective collaboration amongst team members.
